World We Dare to Imagine - Post 3

My little brother rides the school bus home every day. 

The bus drops him off a few blocks away from our house, and my dad usually goes over and walks him back home. The drop-off times are quite inconsistent—sometimes it's around 2:40 p.m., and other times it's closer to 3:00 p.m. or even 3:15 p.m. This makes it difficult for my dad to time his arrival at the bus stop. Unless he waits there for the full 30 minutes, he risks missing my brother’s arrival. There have been times when the bus would drop my brother off early and my dad was not there to pick him up due to other errands. Cold, hungry, and tired from school, my brother would often cross the street and sprint home alone, no matter my dad’s repeated reminders to simply wait for him at the bus stop. 

As I’m away for college and can’t do much to help my dad out, I often worry whenever this happens. What if my little brother isn’t careful and there’s an oncoming car? Or what if he does wait for my dad to come and stands there too long in the cold? Surely, there has to be a solution to this problem.

Opportunity 

Some children are lucky enough to walk a short distance home or have their parents pick them up directly from school. However, many others rely on school buses to get home. According to a survey of 3,500 parents, less than half believe that the school bus system is efficient. 64% of them believed bus systems needed technical advancements, and 67% believed they should be able to track their children’s school buses and know where they are. 

Intro to Org/Solution

Track-a-Tot is an easy-to-use app that provides parents with real-time notifications of their children’s school bus location, saving them time and worry. Using GPS, the app tracks when the bus leaves the school and when it is estimated to be at a bus stop, giving parents enough time to arrive and pick up their children.

The Ask

We are seeking $100,000 from Anima Mundi Development Partners to accelerate our growth. This funding will enable us to develop a robust and user-friendly app, launch targeted marketing campaigns to engage schools and parents, and conduct comprehensive beta testing to ensure user satisfaction.
